Dr. John H. de Jong, D.V.M.

Boston Red Dog and Boston Animal Hospital are FINALLY proud to announce our new fulltime vet! Dr. John H. de Jong, D.V.M., is our new CEO and Director of Veterinary Medicine at Boston Animal Hospital. A 1985 graduate of Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, he has been elected to many leadership roles in organized veterinary medicine having served as president of the Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association, the New England Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Housecall Veterinarians.

He currently serves on the Executive Board of the American Veterinarian Medical Association. His primary interest is in surgery and he also owns and operates the Boston Mobile Veterinary Clinic. He is a weekly columnist for the Boston Herald and is a monthly talk radio guest on WKRO's Howie Carr Show. Boston Magazine and the Improper Bostonian have both recognized him previously as Boston's Best Veterinarian. His personal interests are in politics, fishing, golf, and rugby and he enjoys family time with his wife and two sons.
